UNLOCKING EMPLOYEE LOYALTY

Retention isn’t about raises—it’s about relationships.

Hey empire builders,

Let’s cut to the chase. Losing good employees hurts—bad. If you’re tired of rehiring, retraining, and watching talent walk out the door, you’re not alone. But here’s the kicker: It’s rarely just about the money.

This Week’s Insight: The “Stay Factor” Formula

After building teams across five industries, I’ve learned that retention isn’t about fat paychecks—it’s about building a place people actually want to work.

Here’s my simple formula:

Stay Factor = Trust + Growth + Recognition + Purpose

  • Trust: Give your team real responsibility (and mean it).

  • Growth: Show them a path forward—training, new skills, bigger roles.

  • Recognition: Celebrate wins (big and small) in public.

  • Purpose: Connect daily tasks to your business’s bigger mission.

Action Step:
Pick one of these and go all-in this week.

For example:

  • Start your next team meeting with a shout-out for someone’s recent win.

  • Ask each employee, “What’s one thing you’d like to learn here?”

  • Share the ‘why’ behind a new change—not just the ‘what.’

Why This Matters

When people feel trusted, challenged, and seen, they stick around—even if the competition tries to poach them with a few extra bucks. That’s how I kept my best team members through thick and thin (and why some followed me through multiple businesses).

Let’s Hear From You

Reply and tell me:

  • What’s your #1 challenge with keeping employees?

  • Got a retention win or a horror story? Share it—I might feature it (anonymously) next week!

Let’s build teams that last—because your business is only as strong as the people behind it.
