YOUR BUSINESS WON’T GROW UNTIL YOU DO

I had just opened my first couple of locations and… boom I was stuck. Or a better way to say this: I WAS IN OVER MY HEAD. YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW !!! I had never owned a business before. Sure, I had held leadership positions and I found it easy to take chance and accept risk… but with a 2nd mortgage on my home and a young 1 year old daughter I was wayyyy out of my comfort zone.

If I get really honest with you, I had two choices.

1️⃣ - Sell my few locations and admit defeat.

2️⃣ - Invest in myself and grow.

Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I had the buyers in house with check in hand. YEP, you read that right. I was looking at my exit AND FAILURE after only being in business for approximately 18 months… But I just couldn't do it. I did not accept the check, and I decided to invest in myself.

Several years later, I purchased THEIR company. True story.

Look, I know where you are, and I have been there. I don’t have a college degree; I didn't have a dad to teach me business. I have been in the ring. I have the scars.

And what I tell you is the brutal honest “been there done that proven shit !!”

What I tell you is not a theory from some professor that has never put his money on the line, never mortgaged his home, etc all while teaching you his theories safely from the comfort of his monthly check.

NO SIR, what I tell you, I learned by being sued, fighting government agencies, living the dream, & DOING THE DAMN THING….

I’ve built and sold businesses. I’ve led hundreds of employees across 52 brick and mortar locations in 3 states. And I’ve helped other entrepreneurs turn their struggling operations into sellable, scalable machines.

But none of that started until I stopped waiting. The moment I took full ownership—everything changed.

It’s not about doing it all yourself. It is about leading the charge.

Because when you make the shift to owning, you become the business owner people want to follow.

You’ve got what it takes. But you’ve got to get moving.

✅ Audit your excuses

What excuses have you been telling yourself lately?

You don’t control the market. You do control your systems. You don’t control who applies. You do control WHO you hire and how you train and develop talent. You don’t control what others do. You do control how you lead.

✅ Act Big

Wins start with small moves. Shoot that email. Fix that system. Have that conversation. Momentum builds when you build it.
